What is Luxury?
This past weekend was a super lazy weekend for my husband and I. Since February, we have had pretty much zero relaxation when the weekend rolls around. I mean, when you build a house…you feel as though you literally don’t stop working for months after the house is built and maybe never. We are always on the move so we do not mind working, but a break is good every now and then.
So, this weekend…as we were lying around and actually getting to be lazy for a moment…we had conversations on how much we needed a vacation. Thankfully we have a vacation coming up soon (to Turks and Caicos of course). In our conversation, we discussed luxury vacations…luxury vacations to Turks and Caicos to be exact.
In Turks and Caicos… no matter what resort you stay in on Grace Bay…you all get the exact same beach. Whether you say in a 5 star luxury resort or a 2 star “just a place to sleep” kind of place…you still get that same beautiful beach. But, the difference is, of course, the resort itself and everything that the resort offers.
When I think of luxury hotels in Turks and Caicos… I think of an updated facility with beautiful grounds and tropical landscape that is perfectly manicured. I think of an over the top pool with loungers that have nice thick cushions in them…loungers that are comfy enough to sleep on. The resort must have the best of the best amenities including comfy mattresses in the rooms, great bath amenities, soft towels, and a staff that shows great hospitality and is always willing to help you with whatever it is you may need during your stay.
When it comes to the beach at a luxury resort in Turks and Caicos…I want to see those soft, comfy loungers again, soft towels to take to the beach, and great beach service. All of these things combined with Grace Bay = PERFECTION.
When you pay $500 plus per night for a resort…you expect to get $500 per night’s worth. When you stay at an average priced resort, it is easier to look over some things. The saying is true…you get what you pay for. But, when you are forking out the kind of money it takes to stay at a luxury resort in Turks and Caicos, you want to make sure you are getting your money’s worth. Nothing sucks more than to book a trip, get there, and have a horrible experience. If you are like me and most people…a vacation is something your save for and look forward to until you actually get there. So, after arriving on vacation, you expect to get what you paid for.
Getting what you paid for is not an issue with these five resorts. In my opinion, they are some of the best. Each one has a little something different to offer. The one thing they all have in common is high end amenities, manicured grounds, updated facilities, hospitality, and of course they are all sitting on one of the best beaches in world.
Top 5 Luxury Hotels in Turks and Caicos
- The Palms Turks and Caicos
- Seven Stars Resort and Spa
- Grace Bay Club
- The Somerset on Grace Bay
- Beach House Turks and Caicos
Each of these resorts pricing start around $450 per night and can go up to $2000 per night…depending on the type of room that you need. Steep…I know…but remember…if you want luxury…you have to pay for luxury.
Some friends of ours got married this past December and came to us for help with booking their honeymoon to Turks and Caicos. I sent them to Grace Bay Club. They loved it as much as I thought they would and are already ready to go back.
My husband and I do not stay in luxury resorts every time we visit the island. Like I have said before, we like to go as much as possible and staying in resorts that cost this much is not an option for us each time. If a luxury resort is in your budget every time you visit the island then good for you. Really…I mean that…I think that is 100% wonderful and I’m a little jealous 🙂
If you do not vacation or visit the island regularly…I would say go luxury and make the most of it. Not everyone gets a vacation every year or several times per year. If you are one of those people that only gets occasional vacations…then I say splurge if you can. If you are going to Turks and Caicos for a special event in your life like a honeymoon or anniversary..then I say splurge.
No matter how you look at it…the luxury resorts in Turks and Caicos are amazing. They all have lots of things in common that make each one of them great. They also have little things that make them different and stand out from one another.
If you are looking for a luxury resort in Turks and Caicos…I hope that I have helped you make a decision!!
