Turks & Caicos vs Grand Cayman As most of you know I just got back from Grand Cayman about a month ago. If you have read my previous posts you know that we kind of ended up in Grand Cayman at the last minute due to having to cancel a trip. Turks and Caicos is "our place." I mean...my blog is named after Turks and Caicos because it is the place that makes us happy and that we dream about when we are not there. In our eyes, you just cannot get better than Grace Bay and Providenciales. We like ... Read More
Kitchen 218 in Turks & Caicos
Kitchen 218 in Turks & Caicos Christopher and I visited Turks and Caicos in November. Before the trip, we decided that we would give some new restaurants a try. We say this every time we go, but end up going to our same favorites. I will say that we stuck to our plan this time and tried a couple new places while still fitting in our favorites. Kitchen 218 in Turks and Caicos was on our list of new restaurants to try. I want to be completely honest with everyone because I want you to be ... Read More
Royal West Indies
Royal West Indies in Grace Bay My husband and I have stayed at Royal West Indies in Grace Bay more than any other resort in Turks and Caicos. Why?! Because it is nice and affordable. Royal West Indies is certainly not a full service hotel nor will you get the best service while staying there. You can find many more resorts on the island that are nicer and have better service. The thing is...you pay for what you get. We like to visit Turks and Caicos as much as possible. Being able to visit ... Read More
The Sands at Grace Bay
The Sands at Grace Bay My husband and I like to try different resorts in Turks and Caicos. In November 2017, we stayed at The Sands at Grace Bay. We loved The Sands. The property was very well kept and manicured. Having gone in November, we were there shortly after Hurricane Irma and shortly after the resorts opened back up. The entire time we were there the grounds keepers were working diligently to get everything back in order. Considering they just had a major hurricane, everything looked ... Read More
Turks Kebab
Turks Kebab Finding restaurants in Turks and Caicos is easy...I mean...the island has some great places to eat. A friend of ours who lives on the island suggested Turks Kebab to us a couple of years ago. However, if I am being honest we drove by and were like...nah. The curb appeal is not great. Turks Kebab is this crabby looking shack type building. As most of you know by now, we have our favorite places to eat that we go to over and over again. But, on a recent trip, we decided we would ... Read More
Turks & Caicos after Hurricane Irma
Open and Ready for Business Many people are asking the question...what is Turks and Caicos after Hurricane Irma like? Are the beaches still good? The restaurants...are they open? What about the hotels? Can I drink the water? Is it safe? These are the questions that so many people are asking since Hurricane Irma swept through the Turks and Caicos islands. I had a vacation planned for Turks and Caicos in November way before there was any talk of hurricane Irma. I watched the weather closely to ... Read More
