Cajun Chicken Pasta Recipe
This cajun chicken pasta recipe is so yummy and has a real cajun feel. I have a very similar cajun chicken pasta recipe that I actually based this recipe off of. The original cajun chicken pasta recipe was a regular at our house. I wanted to try something different, so I changed up my veggies, noodles and added rotel. These easy changes basically gave me a new pasta to cook.
Right now, I am actually loving this recipe a little more than the other one. I love asparagus and so I’m pretty sure that is why I love this particular one so much. Do not get me wrong, they are both awesome. I am just “stuck” on cooking this particular one right now.
- 1 box of linguine pasta
- 1 stick of butter
- 2 tbsp. creole seasoning (Tony Chachere’s)
- 1 pack of chicken tenders
- 1 bunch of asparagus
- 3 or 4 green onions
- a yellow onion
- Pint of heavy whipping cream
- 1 can Rotel
- 1/2 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Parmesan Cheese
First you will want to dice your yellow onion and your green onions. Next, you will need to clip the ends of the asparagus and then cut the asparagus into bite sized pieces. From there, you will cut your chicken into bite sizes pieces.
After you cut your chicken, you will put it in a Ziploc bag with the 2 tablespoons of Creole Seasoning (Tony Chachere’s) and toss until the chicken is fully coated. Melt one stick of butter in a pan. Once melted, add in the bite sized chicken. When the chicken is fully cooked, add in the onions and asparagus. Cook until the vegetables are tender. Then, add in one can of Rotel and stir.
From here, you will add in your pint of heavy whipping cream and seasonings. Stir until everything is well incorporated. Add in your noodles. Bring the pasta to a slight boil and then reduce the heat and cook on low until the juices start to thicken. Once they start to thicken, sprinkle the pasta with fresh grated parmesan cheese.
Like I mentioned, this cajun chicken pasta recipe is one of my favorites right now. It really tastes like a fancy pasta you would order in a high end restaurant. We like to serve it with a side salad and some bread.
Tip: If you do not like spicy, just reduce the amount of creole seasoning that you add as this is what makes it spicy.
I hope you enjoy!!
