2018 Sephora Sale
We all know that makeup rarely goes on sale. Currently, Sephora is offering anywhere from 10-15% off. I know that 10-15% is not much…but it is for makeup that rarely goes on sale. So, the 2018 Sephora sale is just the time to stock up on some items that you love or have been wanting to try.
I am a make up junkie. However, I do have my favorites that I buy over and over again or fall in love with immediately. Since the 2018 Sephora Sale is happening now, I thought this would be the perfect time to go over my “cannot live without” makeup items.
For foundation, I like to have options. My favorites include Bobbie Brown Stick Foundation and Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. I use the Bobbie Brown if I want a more matte finish and the Giorgio Armani if I want a dewy look. I do not wear foundation every day so these foundations literally last me at least a year.
I just love a translucent type powder. My favorite is the Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder. Its super lightweight and perfect for around your nose and to set your concealer.
My favorite bronzer is Bobbie Brown Bronzer. On the days I want to have a little color and “oomph” I will just put on some bronzer and concealer.
My all time favorite concealer is the Make Up Forever Full Cover Concealer. I promise I have tried so many different bronzers and nothing I have tried has compared. I’ve bought concealers even more expensive than this one as well as cheaper options and none have compared. This is the one I never let myself run out of.
I love a subtle blush. The one that I have worn for years and always have on hand is Nars Blush. Several months back, I got the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush as a sample from Sephora and I have used it more than my Nars lately. The color and everything in my sample was great. Also, it was a good size sample so I hope it lasts me for some time.
About a year ago a friend asked me had I tried a “highlighter.” I was like…um not sure I want to buy a highlighter that cost close to $50 without knowing whether or not I will like it. Well, literally, not even a month later, I got this same highlighter as a sample. Needless to say…I turned right around and bought some. The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid Highlighter is awesome.
I am super weird about eye shadow palates because in the past I have paid a high prices for palates and then not even use half of the colors and run out of the ones I do use very quickly. For this reason, I love the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Eyeshadow Palate. This palate is only $29 and every color is great. If I want a little shimmer, I have individual colors (that last me forever) that I will put with the Naked 2 colors. Oh, and I love that the colors in the naked palate are a soft, matte finish.
Oh, this one has been a tricky one for me. It seems that for the last six months…not matter what mascara I wear…I end up with smudges all underneath my eye. Then, I end up rubbing my eye trying to remove the smudges and end up rubbing off my concealer/makeup. Well…a couple of weeks ago I did some research because I was like I have got to find something that does not rub off. I had gotten to the point where I would constantly look at Christopher to see if my eyes had mascara underneath them…and they always did. Anyway, after research I came across a brand named Blinc. Blinc Mascara has great reviews and is a “tube mascara” vs a traditional mascara. So, after trying it…I have not had a smudge since…NOT ONE. So, with that being said, it is my new must have. Oh, and it washes right off.
I did not include eye liner or anything because I rarely wear eye liner.
I am pretty picky about my lipsticks. I have tons of lipsticks in a variety of colors. However, lipstick is not something I wear on a day to day basis. However, I do have a certain one that is my go to. I typically have lipstick for years because I wear it so little. But, my Bobbie Brown Luxe Lipstick is the one I love and actually run out of it. It is so moisturizing and feels so good on your lips. I thought I lost mine the other day and had a small freak out because it is a bit pricey at $36.
One of my favorite self tan brands in St. Tropez. I am pretty medium in color so I rarely use self tanner. However, I do love the St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Body Lotion. I like it because it is a white lotion and gives you a subtle glow. I will use it about a week before I need a little color boost. It is also great on your face. In the past I have bought like separate tanners for face and body…but I think you can just use the body for the face. I do have a “cannot live without” face tanner but it is not available at Sephora. You can read about it under my favorite makeup list on the bottom of my blog.
